Brukner Nature Center is dedicated to providing hands-on educational programs through guided discovery of our natural world for school groups, scouts, and homeschool groups. We work in small group settings and strive to encourage children, igniting a spark of interest in wildlife and wild places! We offer a variety of field trips at Brukner Nature Center and schedule year round during normal business hours.

Explore Ohio’s native wildlife with Live! Wildlife Encounters tailored for all ages, where our charismatic wildlife ambassadors steal the spotlight or our Nature Storytime perfect for preschoolers and kindergarten students. Interested in learning more about our native owls? Then our Owl Extraordinaire, a program focusing on Ohio’s owls, their adaptations is perfect and includes a chance for your students to dissect a real owl pellet!

Brukner Nature Center has a wonderful opportunity for the seniors at your nursing facility.  These monthly nature-oriented programs feature live wildlife talks, hands-on activities and interesting video presentations for an information-packed hour of fun and learning.  This program will consist of a 5 minute introduction from our staff, 45 minutes with content from our lesson plan, and ending with 10 minutes for our “Educator chat” where staff can answer questions/chat with your residents.  

The Senior Scientist program is available year round with 12 monthly themes from which to choose. 

Cost is just $100/program plus mileage to your facility.
