Sign up your ‘junior naturalist’ for a week of outdoor adventures, wild games, and wildlife encounters that are sure to inspire!
Geared specifically for children entering K – 5th grade and run from 9:30am to 11:30am.

"HOME SWEET HABITAT"
July 7 - 11 OR July 14 - 18
Did you know that Ohio is home to four different species of garter snakes? The eastern and Butler’s garter snakes can be found in a wide range of habitats from forests to our own backyards! However, the plain’s and short-headed garter snakes can only be found in prairies. Even though these species are closely related to one another, they still have different preferences for which habitats they live in. Join us this July as we explore the different habitats that can be found in Ohio as well as the unique wildlife that can be found there. We will roll over logs in a wetland in search of amphibians and reptiles, wade through a creek to find the creatures that call it home, and set up camera traps in a forest to discover its secretive wildlife!

When you think about your favorite food, what comes to mind? Is it mice?! Or bugs?! How about grass?! We may not eat the same food as our wild neighbors, but even they don’t all like the same things. These herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores are specially adapted to find, catch, and consume their own favorite dinner items. The broad-winged hawk will even peel the skin off a frog before enjoying!
COST FOR EACH WEEK OF CAMP:

$100/child for nonmembers
New T-shirt design for kids will be available this summer!
Consider ordering a T-shirt ($20 plus tax) for your camper, PEEPer, or child to wear while visiting BNC this summer. Sizes will be available in toddler and youth. Watch for the design/details in our May newsletter!
